Nathan Crook, PhD
Associate Professor, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Role: BioLunch Faculty Advisor
I am interested in developing new high-throughput experimental and computational genetic engineering techniques with a focus on the human gut microbiota.

Khing Masaya-anon
Role: Organizing Committee Member & Lunch Coordinator
Hi yall! I’m Khing. I’m an international student from Thailand and a second year PhD student in the Rasor Lab in Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. My research aims to develop a new culture media from cyanobacteria (nutrient-rich microalgae) – creating the ‘green media’ that bridges the conversion of CO2 and sunlight into industrial products, with lower cost and resource requirement. I’m excited to learn about all the amazing sciences through our BioLunch this summer!

Huong Huynh
Role:
Organizing Committee Member & Lunch Coordinator
Research Topic: Engineering Probiotics for the Production of Degradation-Resistant Proteins
Hi everyone! My name is Huong and I am an international student from Viet Nam. I am currently a first year graduate student in the Crook Lab in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. My journey into science began with the high school teachers who inspired me; today, that same spark drives my passion for science communication, and the reason why I am excited to bring BioLunch to you all!

Shayan Moghaddam
Role:
Website Coordinator
I am a second-year PhD student working in Rao lab in the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering department. My research focuses on extraction of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) using thermoacidophiles and developing ways for purification of these elements using protein engineering techniques.
